Nonsurgical Cosmetic Treatments That Can Greatly Enhance Your Appearance

If you have any concerns about your appearance, whether that's aging skin, acne scars, or wrinkles, you may not like the idea of "going under the knife," or having to go through an actual surgical procedure to improve your looks. The good news is that there are many cosmetic treatments available today that don't involve surgery, and which are faster, less painful, and more affordable than ever before. Note a few of those here, and then you can discuss your particular concerns with a dermatologist, cosmetologist, or even the skincare expert at your local spa or salon.

Chemical peels

A chemical peel involves applying a layer of product over your face, and this product then dries and hardens. When this product is removed or peeled off, it takes the top layer of skin with it. This can greatly reduce the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, sallow skin, uneven skin tone, and other such concerns. Your face might be red and irritated for a few days, but a chemical peel is typically rather painless and can give you better-looking skin in just one visit to your skincare expert.

Laser pigmentation removal

If you have a birthmark, age or "liver" spots, red marks, or other such discolorations on your skin, a laser pigmentation treatment can make those spots disappear, or become less noticeable. The laser used for this treatment is not hot and doesn't burn skin, as many people mistakenly assume. This laser, or concentrated beam of light, can be as small as a pinprick, so it can be used on tiny spots on your hands or even your face, without affecting areas of skin around it.

Photo rejuvenation

A photo rejuvenation uses light and even heat to warm up the skin on the face, increasing blood circulation and the production of collagen. Collagen is what makes skin firm, so sagging skin is then tightened and toned. Wrinkles will also be less noticeable, and skin will usually look more radiant and healthier overall.

Dermal fillers

Dermal filler treatments involve injecting a soft substance into wrinkled areas of skin, in order to fill out and smooth over those spots. A filler can also make cheekbones more prominent, which then makes a face look more sculpted. Fillers are also often used around the lip line, to make lips fuller and make the mouth more prominent. Under the eyebrows, fillers can open up the eye area and make eyes seem brighter, and tighten sagging eyelids.
